Randy Fitzpatrick

A man sits in front of a home holding a cane. He is frowning.

My name is Randy Fitzpatrick, and I’ve lived in Northern Cove Mobile Home Park in Charlevoix, Michigan for 11 years. I moved in with my mother when I got hurt working as a CDL driver and had to fight for disability. I can’t take pain medication, so everything I do, I do in extreme amounts of pain.

Around here we all have our in’s and out’s, our goods and bads, but we mostly respect each other. Because I didn’t have any income for years, I picked things up here and there, traded where I could, used my wood and metal working skills, and finally got this place the way I like it.

I took this lot from bare dirt to a beautiful garden. Now the new owner is saying all the plants belong to them!

When this new owner came in, they put in a manager who doesn’t seem to like anyone. They’re on us all the time. They’re even trying to look in our windows and regulate what they see inside.

A tree came down on my house over my kid’s bedroom when he was sleeping and very well could have crushed him. The new owner didn’t even look me in the eye when I introduced myself. He just said, “Get the tree off.” I had to use all of my savings just to fix the house.

We can’t enjoy our homes any more. They’ve put me under so much stress, I’ve already been to the hospital twice. I have no peace of mind here. No joy.
