75 low and moderate income tenants and manufactured homeowners asked Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson at the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) Conference in Las Vegas, “where will we go”. Carson insulted tenants and manufactured homeowners by responding “this is what happens when the swamp gets ahold of people.”
Last month MHAction heard about a community in Michigan facing a 300% lot rent increase. MHAction leader Terry Nelson, from IL, submitted the following editorial in response, calling for elected officials to stand up for manufactured homeowners.
Following the violent white supremacist and Nazi activity in Charlottesville this past weekend, MHAction Core Team leaders and staff felt compelled to issue a statement expressing our support for the community of Charlottesville.
